Nepal trip 2003

In 2003 a group of 10 Eastbourne young people returned to their community inspired from a short-term mission trip to Nepal.  Their aim had been to increase their awareness of the living conditions in a developing country but they gained much more.

Time spent with orphaned and needy children in the village of Bihunkot and at the Prisoner Assitance Mission (PAM) near Kathmandu city opened their eyes to the plight of children in Nepal and they returned home determined to continue the work they had started.

Back home they shared their experiences with the local community and on the 3rd of September 2003 the Orphans of Nepal Trust was formed and incorperated under the Charitable Trusts Act 1957.
